Does anyone know how to cook in a pressure cooker on a glass top stove?

Since I got my Frigidaire glass top stove,(about a year ago) I cannot pressure cook, everything burns into the pan real bad. I have bought 2 new ones, stainless steel. Don’t know what is wrong and we cannot make our favorite PC recipes.
Any ideas??
Thank you brednb, but I have never seen one with a thermometer. but the ones i bought did have a pessure gauge.
And don’t forget, the glass top stove, so that the pot sits right on the heat not like another one that has a burner to sit on.
and i always thought you have to start it on high to build the pressure.
i used my presto on a regular stove top for years and the bottom was all bent, it still worked, but now i need a flat one.
can anyone suggest a brand and or how to know when the inside is too hot. i can only tell when i smell it burning already.
your help is appreciated.

  1. bred-n-butter says:

try turning down the heat of the stove. if your pressure cooker is burning food it is either too hot or in too long. a true pressure cooker has a pressure Gage, a thermometer, and a means to release the pressure to adjust for cooking and prevent explosions. if you cannot monitor the inside it is very dangerous. a pot with only a locking lid (top and twist ) is not a pressure cooker but a veggie steamer
