How can I cook artichokes without a pressure cooker?

I like to eat them by peeling the leaves off, dipping them in butter, and scraping them. So if you know how to prepare them to be eaten like that without a pressure cooker please share! Or any other recipe you have would be appreciated, I like trying new things.

The only way I know how to cook them is with a pressure cooker and I don’t have one, or the money to buy one :/

Throw a small amount of butter and water in a micro-safe bowl and nuke them! It kind of “steams” them. Then let them sit for a few minutes at least.

try this: parboil the artichokes ( dipping them in water that is at a rolling boil ) for one minute each, then put pats of butter down in and around the leaves, then wrap them tightly in tin foil, and bake inside a casserole dish that has about a cup of water in the bottom. they come out fairly tender. 350 for thirty minutes or so.

Just boil them or if you know how to clean and prep them, toss them on the grill or deep fry them

    Stuffed artichokes
Trim the leaves & bottoms of the artichokes .
Make the stuffing from unseasoned breadcrumbs , salt, pepper, fresh chopped parsley, finely minced garlic, parmesan or romano cheese & a little olive oil.
Put the artichokes in a baking dish w/ about 1/4 ” salted water & a little olive oil
Spoon stuffing over the artichokes & tap them so the stuffing falls down between the leaves.
Leave a little mound of crumbs & also put a small spoonful of watered down tomato paste or canned sauce on top.
    Sprinkle with olive oil
Bake @ 350 covered for about 1/2 or so hour till they are tender .
Bake another 10 or 15 minutes uncovered to toast the crumbs on top.
    Definitely Mediterranean , greek /Italian ? recipe.
Does not require precision, bigger ones just take longer. smells fantastic.
Crusty bread & a raunchy red wine does it
    Best regards
