How do I cook pinto beans in pressure cooker?

This is the first time that I use a pressure cooker and I would like to cook some pinto beans but I did not soak them overnight. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks

    Wow…those things still exist?
The last time I laid hands on one of those it was to sterilize the petri dishes I was going to add magic mushroom spores to….

if you have soak them overnight then only use a little water enough to create steam inside the pot , they will be done in 5 minutes , make sure that you let the pressure out before opening the pot .

    Pressure cookers are great.
If the beans are not soaked, you’ll want to cook them for about 30-40 minutes
if the beans HAVE been soaked, then about 20-30 minutes.

when cooking beans, don’t go past half full (beans and water), and cover the beans with 1-2 inches of water. Don’t salt before cooking, but do add 1-2 T. of cooking oil (keeps foam down).

Cooking times really depend on the consistency you’re looking for. I like the beans to maintain their shape, and some firmness. If you over cook, they’ll just get mushier – which may not be a big deal. I tend to cook for about 5 minutes LESS than recipes call for – I can always cook a little more if necessary – but I can’t ‘un cook’ them if over cooked.

    enjoy!
